Heortland is the northeastern part of Kethaela, inhabited mainly by the Hendreiki tribe. After the Dragonkill?, this was where the southern Heortlings survived.
The name means "land of the Heortlings" rather than "land of King Heort". Originally this included all Heortling lands, i.e. Kerofinela and parts of Aggar and Saird. After the Dragonkill, the northern Heortlings were mostly converted to Alakoring ways, and the name stuck to the Kethaelan part even after the Resettlement of Dragon Pass.
In Vingkotling times, Heortland was settled by the Garanvuli who lived around the Syphon River. The Garanvuli also were among the original Heortling tribes in the Silver Age, and remained in history until the onset of the Gbaji Wars.
