Karath Sweetvoice is a godi, deep in the mysteries of Issaries the Guide. In these hard times, he is often heard speaking at the funeral rites of fallen heroes but he also speaks for even the most humble stickpicker. Other times he can be found trying to arrange supplies via his far flung contacts. King Broyan and other heroes have occasionally asked Karath to announce challenges from the walls - his Clear Voice Shout has been heard from behind the Lunar encampments. While few have seen him fight, it is told that he can take care of himself and that his mule has a nasty kick that has surprised several attackers. Karath has had several run-ins with priestesses of Hon-Eel and hates their human sacrifice rituals.

Karath makes an ideal narrator foil to pass information to player heroes, being connected with "everyone", somehow. Also, he can be used to give anyone that thinks that they know "everything" about death (particularly Humakti) a surprise using his Secret Way Rituals.

<Charles>Karath is based on my character in the Firebull campaign and his original details can be found at http://runegate.org/glorantha/karath.html

<Jeff> Can we change his name to Karath Clearvoice?

<Charles>The sweetvoice was part of the original character conception so I am loathe to do that :-) but if there is a concensus, of course I will make the change. However, I will spend some time re-working him to fit him into the environment - putting him in one of the clans of the Volsaxi, etc.
