One group of stalagmites form a certain angle looks like an old woman complete with shawl. An iron deposit has stained it red and is known locally as The Blooded Hag. Could something like this be used as a myth quest to get Earth Magics, cause earth tremors etc during the siege. The existence of an escape tunnel for women and children is a must even if it's just for the continuation of bloodlines to take up the sword at a later date.
<drfegg> When I originaly floated this idea someone mentioned that the stain was from an iron sword, but then another pointed out that it would take seconds before a PC removed it or at least tried too. Pondering on this I thought of a few ideas which may help explain this and other things.
The formation is in a cavern inacessable except via a water filled squeeze and its location lost. Many have tried to find it (hence a reasonable map of the tunnels under the Tor) but no one has thought about an underwater entrance or have died trying. Rumour has it tapping sounds are caused by "Knockers" sprites said to be her children trying to led people to where the Hag resides.<drfegg>
