Of the three Lunar infiltrators I had in Whitewall, Tothus was both my favourite, and most deadly. The Batboy and Jakaleel Shaman pale when compared to the Lunar Hero Tothus Seven-Seventh.
Ever since I read the Gwandor saga of Martin Laurie and Wesley Quedros campaign, the character Tothus Seven-Seventh has been a favourite of mine. We don't learn too much about him, but he is capable of going toe to toe with all of the Gwandor notables and not only live, but give them a jolly good run for their money.
What do we know about him? Well, he appears in a form that I have extrapolated and then put my own spin on. Thus he probably differs quite significantly from Martin's vision of him. YTSSWV I guess...
Appearance
He is about 5'5, 160lbs and dressed in a red samite ninja outfit, without the hood. He wears a gold circlet; very like to the one Monkey wears in the series of the same name. I make no apologies for the cheesiness of this. Another feature of his outfit is that he wears rings around each of his big toes, on the outside of his 'sock like' boots.
History of the Seven-Sevens
Tothus is a Seven-Sevens Mystic from the Lunar Empire. It is a form of spiritualism similar to that of the Taraltaran's, though founded on Eastern mysticism through the prism of the Red Goddess. Monks of the Seven-Seven's sect eschew all weapons and magic. They claim to be the ultimate form of spiritualism through martial training for they have forsaken the blade. The sect was form in 1294 by the Kralorelan Mystic Matsumatsu Seidohara. In 1245, during meditation he had a vision of the rise of a new moon. When that actually occurred in 1247, he went on a pilgrimage to the fledgling Lunar Empire and joined the Lunar way. The sect was founded in 1278, and developed to its current form over the next 70 years. They are sworn servants of the Emperor and are among his most feared assasins.
There are no more than 49 monks who serve in the monastery in Torang. They each train and meditate 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. The masters of the Monks are the Seven-Sevens. They are referred to afterwards as First-Seventh, Second-Seventh and so on.
Powers of the Seven-Seventh
Tothus is currently the highest-ranking Mystic, holding the rank of Seven-seventh, the 7th to do so. He is rumoured to be the most powerful mystic of the Seven-sevens since Seidohara himself. Tothus is over 150 years old. He stopped ageing some time during the fifth wane. That he will play a major part in the hero wars is not in doubt.
Even without magic and weapons his powers are awesome. He has been known to fly, can levitate, has incredible jumping ability, has been seen to pass through solid rock and catch flaming swords between his bare hands. His martial arts are devastating even when striking a fully armoured warrior. It is rumoured that the Seven-Sevens can disguise themselves to appear as someone else so convincingly, a lover would not recognise the deception.
